Today we visit Farmstead Golf Links and talk with our good friend Jason Monohan, who is the General Manager.  On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand, Christine discusses with Jason some of the best holes to look forward to playing during their round.

Obviously the highlight of the round is the finishing hole.  The very unique par 6 18th hole at Farmstead Golf Links stretches out to 767 yards long from the back tees.  It is the hole that all golfers look forward to playing when they come to Farmstead.  If that isn’t enough there is more to look forward to on the 18th hole.  Golfers tee off in South Carolina and putt out in North Carolina.  Yep, that’s right.  The entire golf course borders the state line between the Carolinas.

June is “maintenance” month for Farmstead.  The superintendent schedules improvement and enhancement projects early in the month to keep the course in the phenomenal shape that golfers have come to expect when playing Farmstead Golf Links.

A new practice putting green is about to be added next to the tee box on the 1oth tee box.  It is a great feature added in for golfers that happen to start their round on No. 1o and want to get a little extra putting practice in before teeing it up.

As we mentioned before, the state line runs through the fairway of the 18th hole.  Soon there will be a “State Line” running across the fairway to let golfers know when they cross from state to state.  A very fun feature that we are sure will make for many opportunities for pictures as well as competition and dare we say some friendly wagers between playing partners.  Certainly something that golfers will not find at courses anywhere else.  Just another reason to play Farmstead Golf Links.

For more information on the summer golf schedule, to get great summer special rates and to book a tee time visit the website at www.farmsteadgolflinks.com or call the pro shop at 910.575.7999.  Jason and his friendly staff will be more than happy to answer any question and help in any way at all.
