The International Club of Myrtle Beach is a true hidden gem of a golf course located in Murrells Inlet just off of Highway 17 south. This great Willard Byrd design is tucked away among the the trees and natural terrain waiting for golfers to experience its beauty and wonderful design. On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we take a look at why golfers should be playing this golf course this spring on their golf trip or any time of year for that matter.
As golfers arrive at the International Club they are treated to an amazing driveway up to the bag drop. The circular drive with a giant compass painted in the middle is a look not to be found anywhere else along the Grand Strand. To the right of the bag drop is the entrance to the magnificent clubhouse that is over 6400 square feet of European-style design that holds a first bar and grill area and a well stocked golf shop. The dining area adjacent to the bar is quite large and comfortable making it the perfect place to hang out post round or to host a group event. Whether it’s a large golf outing or a non-golfing luncheon or meeting, the food and beverage staff and the International Club is ready to serve the needs of all their guests.
Across the way from the golf shop and past the putting green is one of the finest golf schools in the Carolinas. There are Two Top 100 Teachers by Golf Magazine instructors on location. Chuck Wike and Brad Redding are both award winning teachers and available to book individual lessons. This is an amazing amenity that not many golf courses in the world can offer its guests. Contact the golf shot today to get information about booking a golf lesson.
The golf course itself has earned a reputation of being extremely enjoyable to play as well as providing a challenge to golfers of all ages and ability levels. The par 72 layout has 5 sets of tees for players to choose the ones that are right for them. From there golfers will experience a course that winds thought both pine and oak trees as well as plenty of native grass lining the fairways. There are lakes and streams to navigate both off the tee and on the approach to many of the holes. Oh and did we mention the bunkers? There are plenty of shiny, white bunkers and sand traps strategically placed through the course waiting to gobble up wayward shots. Accuracy is a key when playing the International Club of Myrtle Beach.
If the International Club is not on the must play list of golfers coming to Myrtle Beach this year it certainly needs to be!
