Jimmy Biggs joins host Shan Coughlin on this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand ( TIUGS ) for the Crow Creek Golf Club‘s February Update. The renovations to the bunkers are now complete and the sand has settled. For those who have not been following the Crow Creek Golf Club interviews, you may want to go back and listen to a few. There was a lot of work, money, and detailed study that went in to the decision on which sand to bring in. These included hitting tests, water drainage tests and others. And we don’t mean they used a small sample, they brought in enough of the different varieties of sand to fill bunkers and then test in the real things, even hitting them with a firehouse to simulate a hard and lasting rain fall.
This is just one example of the lengths the owners at Crow Creek will go to to get it right for their golfers. As one of the only courses on the beach with A1 bent grass greens, designed by Rick Robbins, Crow Creek has held its reputations for being one of the most immaculately maintained courses on the Grand Strand since opening in 2000. Crow Creek is located just over the North Carolina border from the Myrtle Beach area in Calabash North Carolina. It is easy to find and after playing, the decision to return is even easier.
Don’t leave without trying out something in the restaurant. The comfy couches, big screen TVs and assortment of food and beverages make it a perfect ending to a great round of golf. Catch up on the weekend tournament, settle your bets, kick back and relax for a bit before getting that second wind to head back out on the course or back to the homestead.
