On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we visit Meadowlands Golf Club located in Calabash, NC just across the state line. Christine is visiting with General Manager Jason Monahan on one of the best back decks on any golf course. They talk about course conditions and summer specials.
Meadowlands is nestled in the natural beauty of some serene meadows, mature hardwoods and vast wetlands. The 7,054 yards winds beautifully through the natural surroundings that also include fresh water lakes with their natural vegitation. This Willard Byrd and David Johnshon design presents a fine challenge to golfers of all ages and ability levels with its sloping fairways and finely manicured greens.
Meadowlands Golf Club has been named one of the “Top 10 Best New Courses” by North Carolina Magazine when it opened. It also is a “Top 100 Women Friendly Courses” in Golf For Women magazine.
It is summertime and as it gets warm on the Grand Strand things are happening at Meadowlands. It is a busy time on the course. Jason likes to call the course “pound for pound” the best value on the beach. Conditions are always in tip top shape and that is something that the management and staff really take pride in.
June is transition month for Meadowlands. What that means is that they will perform the necessary aerification of the course to allow it to stay plush and green year round. It is a big part of what makes the course so playable and enjoyable. The beautiful surroundings take a lot of work by the superintendent and his staff and they get no rest in the summer but it is well worth it. The results are undeniable. Their hard work and dedication is what makes Meadowlands a must play when visiting the Myrtle Beach area.
Meadowlands is a great place to have a group outing or a charity event. They have a slate of events on the calendar for the summer and fall already but there is always room for more events. The friendly set up and atmosphere of the golf course is matched by the amazing clubhouse and the outdoor seating area. A first class event can be hosted with ease at Meadowlands Golf Club they have everything a group could want to offer its players.
