Richland Golf Club March 2016 Update

There is a new golf course on the Tee It Up Update schedule.  From the valley of Middletown Maryland, Raymond Reyes, General Manager for Richland Golf Club joins host Shan Coughlin.  Surrounded by scenic mountains on all sides, this golf course and popular wedding venue is the place to be year round Raymond tells Shan and you on this edition of the Richland Golf Club March 2016 Update.

Spring Golf is here and with the melting of the snow, the tee sheet has filled up at Richland Golf Club.  There has been a lot of changes recently to this fourteen year old course.  Just in the past year, Richland has changed ownership, management companies, personel and the name.  Formerly Hollow Creek Golf Club, named for the 10 mile creek that runs through the valley, this popular venue is just getting better.   The new ownership took over last October, 2015 and they brought in East Coast Golf Management headquartered in Myrtle Beach South Carolina to oversee operations.  East Coast then brought in Raymond Reyes, a PGA Member experienced in the golf course and large event operations.  Raymond tells Shan that he is excited to see what a full season will bring to the facility and to show people how good things are going.

This winter, even though the course was closed, Richland Golf Club was the place to be.  More specifically, the restaurant/bar area known as The Valley Grill and Sports Bar.  Now that is something you don’t hear every day.   A real sports bar inside a golf club house.  With 21 TVs, live music on Friday nights and DJs on Saturday nights, poker nights and trivia nights, there is always something entertaining going on.  Open seven days a week and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights, Raymond tells Shan, “This place gets to hoppin'”.

Also in this large clubhouse is room for corporate events and weddings.  You can hear the enthusiasm in Raymond’s voice when he talks about events.  He absolutely loves helping people with their big day or big meetings.   He says the place is perfect for it, especially when you factor in the views and location.  Just 45 minutes north of I95 out of Washington DC on Hwy 270, Middletown is located close to Frederick Maryland, “just 3 miles over the mountain” per Reyes.  He is looking forward to hosting more couples, their friends and families in the very near future and says the website will have plenty of pictures and ideas for the big events.

Something else Raymond tells Shan is very exciting is their membership program.  Not only will members who join Richland Golf Club receive privileges at the course there, but with the affiliation with East Coast Golf Management, members will also receive the Platinum Golf Membership.  This membership extends their privileges to the 30 plus courses who participate with the Platinum Golf Membership.  The majority of these courses are in the Myrtle Beach area and members receive discounted rates at the courses, a play 4 get the 5th for free option, discounted member events and non-golf course affiliate discounts at restaurants and accommodations providers.  Raymond says that since most of his members travel to the Myrtle Beach area, they are ecstatic to have this membership inclusion.
