Myrtle Beach, SCPrestwick Country Club names Ryan Wilkinson as its new Head Golf Professional.

Ryan’s journey in golf began at a young age, inspired by his father, Patrick Wilkinson, who has been a prominent figure in the golf industry for many years and currently serves as the General Manager at Diamondback Golf Club.

Ryan’s early exposure to golf led him to excel as a junior golfer, playing for Aynor (SC) High School and later for Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina, where he played for four years.

After college, Ryan worked alongside his father before joining Prestwick Country Club as an Assistant Golf Professional in 2019. He remained at Prestwick until 2022, when he was appointed Head Golf Professional at Shaftesbury Glenn.

Ryan’s tenure at Shaftesbury was marked by his dedication and enthusiasm, which ultimately led to his return to Prestwick Country Club as Head Golf Professional.

Ryan’s extensive background in golf, combined with his commitment to enhancing the golfing experience, makes him a perfect fit for Prestwick’s culture and goals. His passion for the game and ability to build strong relationships will undoubtedly benefit the club’s members and guests.

“We are excited to welcome Ryan to the Prestwick Country Club family,” said Jay Smith, General Manager. “His energy and knowledge of the game will be a tremendous asset to our members and guests.”

Prestwick Country Club is part of the Myrtle Beach Golf Trail even though it has the look of a classic Scottish design. Prestwick also has feel of a private club, but is open to the public. The course was designed by Pete & P.B. Dye and includes some of the most beautifully sculpted holes in the area. This Par 72 beauty plays over 7000 yards from the Black Tees. But Prestwick has 6 sets of tees to fit every golfer’s game. You can set up tee times on their website.

Prestwick works with East Coast Golf Management (ECGM), a leading golf course management company in North and South Carolina, offering a range of services from comprehensive golf facility management to marketing management, administration, operations, maintenance, and more.
