International ClubDoug Donner, General Manager from the International Club Golf Course, joins host of Tee It Up Grand Strand, Shan Coughlin, for this edition of Play International Club Golf – 2015 June Update.  They get the conversation started with a little talk about the US Open this past weekend so if you are listening or reading this and it is not June 2015, just keep that in mind.  Here on the Grand Strand we were all a little dissapointed Dustin Johnson did not pull out the win but the Coastal Carolina Alumni seems to have his game back on top.  It was great to see him so close to the win.  Maybe at The Open we can see him get the Claret Jug or possible Jordan Speith will go 3 of 3 on his way to a Grand Slam.

International Club2The International Club Golf Club has named each hole for a country and the opening first hole is named for Scotland.  Doug tells Shan that this hole is wide open for the driver and that it has that  links feel to it.  With an elevated green and nothing in front of it, this shorter par 4 is one of the easier holes on the course, but you do have to watch the bunkers on the sides of the green that will collect wayward shots.  The hole is a little dogleg right but since it is a little shorter, hopefully you can get it close so you can get your round started off on the right foot.  The Hurricane Tour just had a tour stop there and the course is in great shape for summer golf with their Tif Eagle Bermuda greens which loves the heat.  The greens are spacious and do boast a bit of undulation in the centers but if you can get on the right tier with the flag stick you will score well.  The best place to get information about this great course is on their featured golf course page here on TheGolfDirector.com – CLICK HERE.  You can also go directly to their website by clicking on their banner to the right.
