Jimmy Biggs, PGA Professional and Head Golf Professional from Crow Creek Golf Club, joins host of Amateur Golf Talk LIVE, Shan Coughlin for this edition of Play Crow Creek Golf Club – June 2015 Update. Jimmy, who shows up for the interview all decked out in his Nike Volt attire, give some good summer golf tips on how to handle the heat. Stay hydrated – sun screen – try the afternoon – cool towels or ice on pulse points – wrist, neck
Crow Creek is one of the only courses here on The Grand Strand to have bent grass greens. In the summertime, the fantastic maintenance staff led by Joe Jamison, has long days babying this grass that is not real fond of the super hot weather. However, t is so worth it as this extra attention keeps them in pristine condition all year long. Another maintenance must is aerification and Crow Creek is finished so no need to worry about putting on sanded, “punched” greens.
Another project completed that is near and dear to Jimmy’s heart is the replenishment of the Golf Shop. During the last interview, he was clearly unhappy that his shop was almost bare as so many people had scarfed up what he had purchased at the PGA Show. But now, it is fully back and stocked with colorful clothing and fun summer stuff.
We have often talked about the menu at The Crow Creek Restaurant. Golfers and non-golfers alike come in for a great selection. Enjoy something to eat before and/or after your round inside or outside on the patio. Located right off Highway 17 just 2.2 miles from the state line, it makes for a good stop on your way in or out of town too.
Crow Creek is part of the East Coast Golf Management group so you can include them on your PGA 4, PGA 5 or now the just introduced PGA 6 package. PGA stand for Play Golf Again. On these packages, you choose 4, 5 or 6 out of 24 (yes, you can play Crow Creek more than once) and you receive a $100, $150 or $200 gift card good at ANY of the courses. Use these gift cards on golf replays, food and beverage, or merchandise. It is the best golf value on the beach with a great selection of courses. Ask for it by name from us at TheGolfDirector.com when you book your golf trip, or from your current provider.
