caledonia club houseShan Coughlin, Host of Tee It Up Grand Strand, welcomes General Manager and PGA Professional Bob Seganti for the Play Caledonia and True Blue April 2015 update.  To start, Bob and Shan give a big Happy Birthday shout out to Mrs. Seganti as Bob went to social media for ideas on gifts for this year’s special occasion.  Shan had offered up some fabulous ideas, all of which Bob found exception to.   Hey, she was just trying to help.  What girl doesn’t love diamonds and a B&B weekend?

Myrtle Beach golf PackagesLocated in the beautiful low country of Pawleys Island South Carolina, sister courses Caledonia Golf and Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club have won many awards and received numerous accolades since they have opened.  For the entire list, see their website at www.fishclub.com.  They have also been host to many great events including this past spring, one of the Golf Channel Amateur Tour majors was held as a two day event at both courses.  In September they will host the largest co-ed college event in the country on property for five days as part of a Golfweek event.  Just 30 minutes south of the main section of Myrtle Beach, these courses are nestled in the salt creeks, marshes and along the other water features in that area which makes for great golf, challenging golf and certainly a fantastic experience for both tournament and amateur players.

Caledonia OneThe Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas are full on into spring golf season.  Four years ago, they made the decision not to overseed the golf course at True Blue and had great success without the disruption in the fall for the overseed process.  It also helped with the transistion of rye grass dying out and the bermuda grass since there isn’t a competition between the grasses.  Caledonia went to this process two years ago.  Now, as the weather is warming up, their bermuda is greening up and conditions are tip top.   Bob states that 90% of the players don’t even realize the course hasn’t been overseeded (they do use a pigmentation on the course to color it).  That even with the winters, bad to us, great to others, the courses are in great shape.  Smooth, fast and receptive is what they aspire to for their greens during all seasons, no matter what the color actually is.
