The laugh-out-loud parts are when the parent and child talks about the rigorous and nerve-racking alternating shot competition.
The heartwarming moments are all about the family love among these players and also how, for many of them, other family members come down to either watch or to enjoy in the after-golf festivities. Too often we hear that the family unit is disintegrating. We’re not seeing it here.
Myrtle Beach is the perfect spot for enjoying the beach, dining at great restaurants, and an entertaining nightlife for all the participants.
What’s also fascinating is the number of players who have participated in this 27-year event with a son and daughter now — while in the past they played with a parent.
Luring New Golfers
Another fascinating result of Family Week Golf is the number of young golfers, in high school or college, who had not been interested in golf until they were able to attend family golf week.
