DiamondBack Golf Club January 2016 Update

DiamondBack Golf Club January 2016 UpdatePatrick Wilkenson, General Manager of Diamondback Golf Club at Woodland Valley Country Club talks with Shan Coughlin about what is happening out at Diamondback this month.  Small changes are bringing about big differences in the course, the atmosphere and the amount of golfers out at Diamondback Golf Club.  While they cannot help but talk about the beautiful January temperatures in the mid-50’s and low 60’s, Shan and Patrick also talk about what it means to the membership and players to see little changes here and there that have made a big difference like overseeding for the first time in seven years.  This will make winter golf aesthetically more pleasing than in past years.  The one thing that Patrick says that can be felt on the property is “We don’t get too excited over anything here.”  Now that is not to say that they aren’t excited at all, but it is more a of statement of mindset.  It is very relaxed and you feel very comfortable and welcomed there.

Diamondback Golf 1From the large fireplace and wildlife represented in the clubhouse, (they even have a diamondback rattler in glass) it gives the feel of a camp or hunting lodge.  There is ample area to sit and relax before and/or after your round and enjoy the surrounds and a cold beverage or two.  While certainly close in proximity to the Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach areas, it is just far enough off the main coastline to be considered quieter and a bit more secluded.  Located just two blocks off Highway 9 in Loris South Carolina, it is directly on the way in and out of town for those driving from Highway 95.  Plus it is still close enough in for those wanting a different golf experience from the typical beach courses.  Considered a bit narrow, it is still a friendly challenge for those of all skill levels.

Under new management, with a renewed focus on customer service and with more changes and care being given to the course and facilities, Diamondback Golf Club is quickly moving up the must play ladder.  As part of the Platinum Golf Membership program and the East Coast Golf Management PGA (Play Golf Again) 4,5 and 6 Vacation package that you can request from us or your golf provider, there are many ways to play Diamondback Golf Club.  The best way still remains to book directly on their website but if you are coming into town for an extended period of time or visit often, these options will save you a significant amount of money.

For more information, check out their website by clicking the banner or go direct to www.playdiamondbackgolf.com.  This is the best place to stay up to date on what is happening at the course and to book your tee times.  If you do want to include them in your package, be sure to ask for the PGA 4, PGA 5 or PGA 6 round package to get the complimentary gift card to use on replays, merchandise, food and/or beverages at each participating course.

Thank you for interacting with us here at thegolfdirector.com and we hope to see you in the fairways!  Hit ’em straight.
