Colonial Charters HeaderIn this edition of  Tee It Up Grand Strand ( TIUGS ) Chris Jones, Head Golf Professional at Colonial Charters Golf Club, talks with host, Shan Coughlin, about the March update.  The staff at Colonial Charters continues to focus on making  golfers feel like this is their local golf course whether they are technically local or not.  Chris tells a story of what golf means to him and why he drove past several courses when he lived back in Raleigh to get to the one he loved to play.  This story paints the picture of why he is promoting the atmosphere he is at Colonial Charters.  He has even just opened up their online booking specials to a seven day window versus the 48 hour window employed by most so you can make your tee time earlier.  And the other change you will see is that the earlier you book, the better the rate will be.  This is a welcomed change as those who like to plan can now take advantage of getting the tee time they want, for a great rate, while still allowing those who find some free time at the last minute the ability to check availability quickly.

Colonial Charters CourseColonial Charters has great specials and you’ll pay between $18 – $35 to play when you book online.  Combine that with the nightly (Wednesday – Friday) themes like Wednesday Wings ($.25 each) and Thirsty Thursdays ($1.25 drafts) and food specials including their signature chicken club and you have the makings for a relaxing golf experience with a great value.  The newly renovated bar and patio provides a comfortable setting to kick back after a long day at work, a quick 9, a longer 36 hole match or whatever your day has brought.  They aim to know you like a neighbor – a local.

Colonial Charters Golf Club is a great venue for tournaments and group outings as well, for all of the reasons listed above.  We haven’t talked much about the golf course, but it is very beginner, junior, ladies and senior friendly.  Do not let the fact that there are 16 holes with water intimidate you.  It does provide a challenge for those who chose to play the tips, but for those who play the appropriate tees, you may just shoot your best round.
