Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised just 43 miles up the road in Ford City, PA. Brett found the game of golf in his teen after meeting fellow Pennsylvanian, Arnold Palmer at a charity event in 1996. He was hooked from then on. For someone who didn’t grow up with a golf club in his hand so to speak, his list of accomplishments in golf is fairly impressive.
Thomaswick attended David & Elkins College, a NCAA Division II school in Elkins, WV where we was a member of the men’s golf team all four years before graduating in 2004. He is a Golf Academy of America graduate (2009) and a Top 100 Alumni Award winner. That is just the beginning of his accomplishments in the game.
Brett became a PGA member in 2011 and is a Certified PGA Playing Ability Test Examiner. He was honored as the First Tee of the Coastal Carolinas Volunteer of the Year in 2014. Which in the Grand Strand golf community is a tremendous honor. In 2015 and 2016 Thomaswick and his staff were honored with the Bridgestone Golf Best NFL Merchandise Display Winner which encompasses golf courses from all over the United States. Winning that two years in a row take some serious creativity and awesome staying power. Brett has also been a Srixon Cleveland Staff Professional since 2015.
To say Brett is dedicated to the game he loves would be a tremendous understatement. He truly believes the best way to get people to enjoy the game of golf is to show them how much he enjoys the game of golf. He looks forward to going to work everyday, knowing the he will get the chance to meet and greet fellow golf enthusiast all day long and interact with them. The folks at Sandpiper Bay are very lucky to have Brett as their head pro.
As if all that was not enough, Brett is a busy man off the golf course as well. He is getting married this June to the love of his life Jessica Guess. He is also the proud owner of three rescue pets Cutch (dog), Murray (cat), and Polly (cat). Hot yoga is a new passion for him as these days and we here at the INetGolf are happy to have Brett as the co-host of the Fantasy Sports Fools Facebook show. Brett shares his amazing knowledge of stats and figures each week giving tips for listeners for their fantasy sports teams. He is the proud grandson to Jack Thomaswick who, as Brett claims, is the only undefeated manager in Major League Baseball history! We will let Brett tell you the story.
Brett Thomaswick is a very well deserving recipient of TheGolfDirector.com Video Magazine PGA Professional of the Year for 2018. This last statement says it all about Brett. He says that his career focus is to getting as many people as possible to enjoy the game of golf and treat every one with respect much like Arnold Palmer did.
