The WGAT USA (World Golfers Amateur Tour) and TheGolfDirector.com have joined forces to host tournaments throughout North and South Carolina beginning with three National Qualifier Tournaments in August 2014. These 3 National Qualifier events have been specially developed to help launch the all-new WGAT Carolinas Tour.  The first Carolinas Tour national qualifying events will be held at Cape Fear National in Wilmington, NC, Grande Dunes Resort Course in Myrtle Beach, and International World Tour in Myrtle Beach on August 9, 16th, and 23rd respectively. Entrants in these three events will be competing for spots in the WGAT National Championship September 24-27, 2014 at Mission Hills Resort at Howey in the Hills, Florida and a shot  to represent Team USA at the 20th WGAT World Championship  in Durban, South Africa in November. WGAT Carolinas Tour membership is not required for the upcoming National Qualifiers. If you are a 25 handicap or less, you’re invited to play.

Players can choose which qualifier they want to play based on the course, the entry fee, and odds to win. For the Cape Fear National event on August 9th, 1 person for every 5 rounds played in the tournament will advance to the National Championship. The entry fee for Cape Fear is $215.00 per player. At the Grande Dunes event on August 16th, 1 player for every 10 rounds played will advance with an entry fee of $160.00. At International World Tour on August 23rd, 1 player for every 20 rounds played will advance and the entry fee is $105.00.  Players will receive lunch and range balls with their entry fee as well as pro shop gift certificates and other prizes to offset the entry fee/cost. The low net scores will advance to the National Championship – 1 for each 5 rounds at Cape Fear National, 1 for each 10 rounds at Grande Dunes, and 1 for each 20 rounds at International World Tour.  For example: If 20 golfers play Cape Fear, 4 will advance;  If 30 golfers play Grande Dunes, 3 will advance; If 40 golfers play at International World Tour, 2 will advance. The low net winners will have their entry ($599.00) into the WGAT National Championship paid and will compete in their respective handicapped flight.

Each flight winner from the National Championship will qualify for a spot to represent Team USA against the World at the 20th WGAT World Championship in Durban, South Africa. Qualifiers will have all their expenses paid for 10 days in Durban including round trip airfare for 2, 10 nights of 4 star accommodations, 33 meals, 5 cocktail parties, 6 rounds of golf, Caddies, 7 sets of uniforms, Team USA Staff Bag, 6 tourist excursions, and much, much more! Did you get that? All expenses for all that stuff is paid in addition to your entry into the tournament.

Do you have what it takes to be a World Champion with a 25 or less handicap? If you’ve very dreamed about a chance to compete in a professional-style tour as an amateur, with an opportunity to advance within your flight to a National Championship, then on to the World Championship, the WGAT Carolinas Tour may be just right for you.
