Shaftesbury Glen 125Shan Coughlin, host of Amateur Golf Talk LIVE! welcomes Tamatha Lewis to the studio to talk about the Golfing for Special Needs Tournament taking place at Shaftesbury Glen Golf and Fish Club on Saturday July 11, 2015.  This golf tournament is raising the money necessary to ensure that the Special Needs Family Fun Day continues to happen. Tamatha has been involved with this great cause for a few years now providing each family attending with a themed picture from the event and that has grown to her participation on the board.  As if that is not enough, this year she volunteered to host a fundraising golf tournament and TheGolfDirector.com is happy to help get the word out.

All proceeds from the golf tournament will go towards the Special Needs Family Fun Day held each year in Loris South Carolina in which over 200 families are entertained with activities they ALL can enjoy. These activities include horseback riding, dancing, face painting, a petting zoo, lunch and so much more and may be the only time this that a family can enjoy everything together.  All of the activities for the day are geared toward the special needs individual so that they can just be themselves and enjoy a day dedicated solely to them.

For golfers, the tournament will be very special as well with gifts and prizes for all.  One of the prizes is a 40″ flat screen smart TV donated by Aaron’s.  Duplin Winery will have wine available for tasting and Bistro 90 is another one of the sponsors.  The format is a 4-man Team Scramble which is $99 per player or $350 per team which includes Golf at Shaftesbury Glen, lunch (hamburgers, hot dogs or BBQ, your choice), two drink tickets and two mulligan tickets.  Additional mulligans and a 50/50 drawing ticket are available at just $5 each.  This fundraising event is one where you know the money is helping families right here in our community.  You are going to play golf that Saturday anyway, so come out and support this cause and play a great golf course.
