Shan Coughlin and Jamie Ketola – the real working wives of golf professionals – have another wild adventure at Monday after the Masters which they dish on in this Golf Gossip edition for The Masters Wrap Up.  The Hootie and the Blowfish Monday after the Masters Celebrity Pro Am raises a ton of money for the South Carolina Junior Golf Association.  Jamie’s husband actually caddied for Darius Rucker in the very first MAM tournament.  Listen as Shan and Jamie give a listing of the monies raised and what it has been spent on including Golf Lands, scholarships, etc.  Jamie, when she worked with the SCJGA, was the girl that got the check from the tournament and she has been very involved with junior golf for years.

So one of the funniest things that happened was when the first group teed off, Jim Furyk was their professional, and the announcer did ask Jim what he did over the weekend.  A collective gasp came from the crowd as we all knew he missed the cut at the Masters but he took it well and proceeded to hit a very long ball down the center of the fairway.  The largest crowd following a celebrity by far was the entourage following Larry the Cable Guy.  It was a mob.  He was so gracious.  How the man could even hit the ball is beyond us, but he did, although he did not like the shot.  We hope he got a reprieve after the round for a while.

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention what happened at the Masters and for some reason, Jamie isn’t on the Speith train.  Why not Jamie?  He has played two Masters and finished second then first.  Listen as she tries to defend herself but we think she is off the train because she is on the Rory McIlroy train.  Shan also mentions how Matsuyama gained some fans and the roar after Phil’s bunker shot could have been heard throughout all of Augusta.  The not so good parts of the Masters included Tiger “popping” a bone back in his hand and then continued to play.  He was called out on TV by Nick Faldo saying that could not happen and we happen to agree.
