True Blue Golf Club June 2016 Course Update

The Gilder boys(#BigD #ELI) were in Pawleys Island to get updates on True Blue Golf Club. Giving us those updates was PGA Director of Golf Operations, Bob Seganti. Bob informed us of the sizzling summer specials and the differences between True Blue and it’s sister course, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. We also met with Megan Janel, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. True Blue has a fantastic restaurant overlooking the 18th green.

As you arrive at True Blue Golf Club, the first thing you notice is the blue roof on the clubhouse. It IS true blue. They have a circle drive that surrounds a fountain and front lawn. The entire place is beautifully landscaped. This course has been ranked in the Top 100 by every major golf magazine.

As you walk through the clubhouse, you are greeted at every turn by the courteous staff. We made our way to the back deck overlooking the 18th green. There we met with Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, Megan Janel. Megan informed us about the food specials at True Blue. Did you know their New England Clam Chowder is world famous? They offer great service to the golfers. As you approach hole #9, you can call the shop to pre-order your lunch to save you time at the turn. They also offer delivery. Yes, you can call the shop and have food delivered to the hole you are currently playing. WOW! There is also drink specials to quench that thirst after your round. Happy Hour 3pm to close. The restaurant and bar is a local favorite even for non-golfers.

After talking with Megan, we found Bob Seganti. Bob is the PGA Director of Golf Operations for True Blue Golf Club and its sister course, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Bob informed us that along with the same ownership, True Blue and Caledonia have the same course architect. Mike Strantz designed both golf courses earning him the award of “Architect of the Year” in 1998. Even though they are designed by the same person, True Blue Golf Club is quite a bit different than Caledonia. True Blue offers big wide fairways with huge greens. It has more of a links golf feel. There is also some major elevation changes. The one thing that is definitely the same, course conditions.

The pricing at True Blue Golf Club is family friendly. They have junior rates, as well as, twilight rates. You can play True Blue Golf Club after 4pm for $50. There is also 2-play specials with the sister course Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Go to fishclub.com for more information and book your tee time.

True Blue Golf Club is a fantastic place. Whether you want top notch golf course conditions or world famous New England Clam Chowder, put this venue at the top of your list.
