We visit Beachwood Golf Club on this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand.  Beachwood is one of the older courses in North Myrtle Beach and a favorite of many locals and visitors alike.

Located just north of restaurant row, Beachwood Golf Club and General Manager, Kevin Lawson are always ready to greet golfers with a smile the moment they enter the clubhouse.  Since 1968, Beachwood has been know as one of the friendliest places to visit along the Grand Strand.

Before stepping onto the course be sure to take in all there is to see in the fully stocked pro shop.  The staff at Beachwood can clothe golfers from head to toe with all the best name brands.  After that make sure to stop in the bar and restaurant area.  Kevin brags that they serve the best hot dogs on the beach.

The practice facility at Beachwood is as complete as there is in the Myrtle Beach area.  The driving range is spacious and conveniently located right behind the clubhouse.  The short game area complete with two putting and chipping greens to work on stroke savers.  The practice bunker and all grass pitching area, is the optimal place to work on your game.  This practice facility is open to the public.

The course has hosted the 1989 Carolina Open, the 1992 Golf Writers Association of America, and the Carolinas PGA Seniors Championship. The Gene Hamm design is tree lined with tall Carolina pines.  It also boasts finely manicured green complexes that putt as well as any on the beach.

Beachwood has a reputation of being the best conditioned course on the grand strand will not disappoint.  It still has its original design that golfers have enjoyed for 40 plus years.  The 18 championship holes keep players returning time after time to enjoy the tranquil environment.

There are no houses or condos on the property.  The 180 acres is all golf course.  Surrounded by trees and lakes and some of the most beautifully brilliant floral displays around.  Azaleas and crepe myrtles rule are found throughout the entire 18 hole layout.  The scenery is worth the price of admission.

After playing Beachwood Golf Club golfers will be sure to understand why it is a favorite of locals and package golfers alike when visiting the North Myrlte Beach area.
