Myrtle Beach Fall Golf is here and in this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand, your host Shan Coughlin talks about Crow Creek Golf Course with Head Golf Professional Jimmy Biggs.   Crow Creek Golf Course is located in Calabash North Carolina just over the state line from the South Carolina region commonly referred to as the Grand Strand or the Myrtle Beach area.  As we travel and talk to folks from other parts of the country, we have  noticed that this is becoming a point of confusion.  Just know that there are still 84 golf courses here open to the public and when you use your GPS, you will notice that they are all well within driving distance of the beach area even though they may technically be located in a city or even state with a different name.

Crow Creek Golf Course has a fantastic layout which can stretch to just over 7100 yards from the tips, and is one of the only ones left in this area with the L-93 bent grass greens.  The large clubhouse offers a plentiful retail shop with all the best brands and a full service restaurant.  This facility opened in February 2000 and is a Rick Robbins design, former design associate of Jack Nicklaus.

Jimmy shares with Shan some information about fall golf at the course as well as the results of a tremendous fundraiser he took part in.  Eight area golf professionals and two manufacturer representatives associated with East Coast Golf Management played 100 holes of golf in honor of Patriot Golf Day to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation raising over $16,000.  With participation from the clubs’ local players, membership and businesses, pledges were collected for holes played, birdies and eagles.  Believe it or not, just as many birdies and eagles were made on the last 18 holes as the first though it did take a while for the soreness to go away following that day.
