Beachwood GolfKevin Lawson, Head Golf Professional, joins host Shan Coughlin on The Golf Director to talk about Beachwood Golf Club and their January update on this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand. In this interview, this wacky duo have fun talking about golf, dead tree removal, dogs and the old M*A*S*H show. Yup, it’s crazy here at The Golf Director but it’s our aim to entertain the heck out of you so you keep coming back.  Beachwood Golf Club is one of the oldest, best run courses on the beach with a tried and true experience you can count on every time.

beachwoodaOpened in 1968, Beachwood Golf Club is centrally located on Highway 17, the main thoroughfare through the Grand Strand, so finding it is super easy and unless you are completely on the edge, you are within minutes of this course.  Combine this with the average round lasting just under or right at 4 hours, with daily specials and package deals, you always get a great value. Golf at Beachwood is not only affordable and fun, but also timely.  You can get in a round and still make family beach time, shopping time, dinner time, show time, or just relaxing time.  For those who love to play 36 holes, while you will feel challenged, you won’t be beat up so you’ll still have plenty in the tank for that second round.

Kevin tells Shan that now they have completed the work on the bunkers on the back nine and are starting on the front nine.  They have filled in several that never came into play and are updating the others.  They have also removed over 80 dead trees and are adding additional landscaping and other plants to beautify the course.  Over-seeding is now complete so the course is in great shape and looks fantastic too.
